Profile
Dr Fong graduated with Honours from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery in 2011. After internship and residency, she commenced training in Cardiothoracic Surgery and obtained Fellowship from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2023. Dr Fong completed her training and Fellowship years at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, Prince of Wales Hospital, Liverpool hospital, St Vincent's hospital and Royal North Shore Hospital. Dr Fong also completed a PhD in congenital cardiac surgery. She has a particular interest in coronary artery surgery, valve surgery, aortic surgery, pacemaker and defibrillator insertion and general thoracic surgery.
Research
Dr Fong maintains an active commitment to ongoing research in the field of Cardiothoracic surgery and has published over 25 peer-reviewed publications. She has been invited to present her research at both national and international Cardiothoracic surgery meetings including the Australian and New Zealand society of cardiac and thoracic surgeons meeting (ANZSCTS), American association of thoracic surgery (AATS) conference and European congenital heart surgeons association (ECHSA) & World Society for pediatric and congenital heart surgery (WSPCHS).
