Profile
Dr Jingyi Cao is a Head and Neck Surgeon, Surgical Oncologist and General Surgeon who specialises in treating thyroid, parathyroid and salivary gland diseases, as well as soft tissue tumours and advanced skin cancers. Graduating from the University of Melbourne School of Medicine in 2010, Dr Cao went on to obtain her Fellowship in General Surgery with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) in 2019. She further specialised in Head and Neck Surgery and Surgical Oncology at Westmead Hospital and the Crown Princess Mary Cancer Centre Westmead. She also obtained full membership to the Australian and New Zealand Endocrine Surgeons (ANZES) and the Australian and New Zealand Head and Neck Cancer Society (ANZHNCS).
An empathetic listener, Dr Cao is committed to patient-centred care and adopting the latest evidence-based surgical management for each of her patients. She offers consultations in both English and Mandarin and is known for her clear and effective communication with patients and referring doctors. Dr Cao is also a qualified RACS CCrISP instructor and Clinical Examiner. She is actively involved in the supervision and training of surgical trainees, junior medical officers, and medical students.
Outside work, she enjoys spending time with her young family and travelling.

Research
Dr Cao was awarded a Master of Philosophy in Medicine by the University of Sydney in recognition of her clinical research efforts and thesis on the surgical management of secondary and tertiary hyperparathyroidism. She has ongoing clinical research interests in her subspecialty of Head and Neck Surgery and Surgical Oncology, and in improving quality and safety of patient care.
